After a series of steps by the European WTCC Touring World Championship goes to the African continent - the Russian team LADA SPORT ROSNEFT will perform on May 6-8 at the WTCC fourth stage in Morocco.

This year the route in Marrakech will be new to all the drivers WTCC - temporary urban track which held the World Touring race in 2009, was seriously renovated and transformed into a semi-permanent track, the race track configuration has changed dramatically. Cirsuit Moulay El Hassan became shorter (2971 km), and now it's the shortest track on the calendar at the World Touring. Pilots will have to drive 21 laps in the opening race and 22 - in the main race. The configuration has become less direct, more turns, and there are more opportunities for overtaking, which will undoubtedly make the event more spectacular and intense contact fight.

In the previous round of the WTCC in Hungary (22-24 April), the Russian team has achieved one of the best results in the history of LADA SPORT performances in the World Turinge - all three teams entered the car in the top 6 at the end of the race to open (N. Katsburg - 3rd place, Mr. . Tarquini - 5th place, H. Shuttlecock - 6th place). Car LADA Vesta from the very beginning of the season-2016 consistently demonstrates increased speed, stability and competitiveness.

Stage Championship WTCC World Touring in Morocco is important for LADA brand, not only from the sporting point of view - North Africa has always been important in the list of promising export markets for AvtoVAZ.

For the Dutch pilot LADA SPORT ROSNEFT Nick Katsburga stage in Morocco will be the first in his career touring (Nick joined the team in June of last year). Italian Gabriele Tarquini won on Moroccan road in 2010, but for Hugo Volan stage in Marrakech has a special significance - it is here that the young Frenchman won his first WTCC podium: in 2014 he was third in the second stage of the race.
