AvtoVAZ has presented a new Lada Kalina Sport.

AvtoVAZ and its subsidiary “LADA Sport” presented two new modifications of Lada Kalina Sport, which are created with account of the experience of participation of brand team LADA Sport in the World Championship WTCC.

The initial configuration of Lada Kalina Sport is equipped with 120 -horsepower 16-valve 1.6 liter engine, which allows to reach 100 km / h in 9.5 seconds and to reach a maximum speed of 197 km / h. The 5 - speed manual transmission with a “rapprochement” between gears and rope drive improve driving dynamics and it has excellent clarity switching. “Acute” steering, the reduced by 20 mm ground clearance, coupled with gas pressure shock absorbers and 16-inch low-profile wheels provide perfected controllability, by increasing the active vehicle safety.

There is boosted engine with a capacity of 1.6 liters, 140 HP, mounted on a frame, is under the bonnet of a “charged” version Kalina Sport. Acceleration to 100 km / h –is for 8.5 seconds. This configuration has received an upgraded manual transmission, better brakes, re-adjusted suspension, revised steering, and 17- inch alloy wheels and low profile tires.

AvtoVAZ presented Lada Granta hatchback

At Izhevsk plant, in the spring of 2014, the production of Lada Granta hatchback starts, which is intended to replace family hatchbacks Lada Samara in the market, whose production was completed in 2013. According to AvtoVAZ, Lada Granta sedan is the best-buy car in the Russian market for more than a year.

Hatchback Lada Granta got new and different from the sedan, front and rear bumpers. There are some black details in the front bumper, in addition to its original form - low radiator closure, as well as covers on places of fog lights. Rear bumper is facilitated visually by the black plastic strip at the bottom. License plate and its lights are moved to the fifth door, and there is LED fog light in the middle of the bumper. Taillights of horizontal layout are protruding slightly beyond the fifth door of hatchback. According to AvtoVAZ, this technique of broad niche under license plate and the horizontal lines of the rear bumper expand visually the back.

Sloping roofline and rising sill line - are one of the main features of the new hatchback, which are forming dynamic appearance. To change the window sill line, it was adjusted the design of rear doors (new stamped door panels and interior plastic trim were developed). The updated design of the sidewall is designed to emphasize the door moldings, painted in body color. Shape of the roof and tailgate keep a comfortable fit of rear-seat passengers, provides good aerodynamic properties and promotes self-cleaning of rear window. It also permitted to eliminate the wiper in standard hatchback. Sports notes in style are added by exterior mirrors of the new design. The top versions will have LED “turn signals”.

With regard to changes in the interior, Lada Granta hatchback got the original handle manual transmission, new cut upholstery of seats with additional decorative stitching. It was applied silver bezel of door handrails and all four ducts on the dashboard (from “norm” configuration). Interior trunk is formed not only by the carpet but also by the developed plastic parts of shelf supports - it improves the interior style and acoustic comfort.

LADA future will be similar to the concept of XRAY. Crossovers also

In addition to the front, made in the form of the letter "X", the new LADA, including crossovers, will borrow from the XRAY concept the sides as well.

In an interview with "AvtoSrede" said chief designer of AVTOVAZ, Steve Mattin.

SUV - a very important segment, especially for Russia, because of practicality due to road conditions. And we'll be in this segment are presented. Future crossovers LADA will have a strong impact from the XRAY. This does not mean that we will release a copy of the concept, but a production car that will  have a very significant relationship with the XRAY. The XRAY concept affects all projects on which we are working. Form "xXx" on the front of the switch to the other models. Plus will be enough relief sidewall. You'll see, it will be implemented on new cars LADA. This is part of the strategy language design, "- said Mattin.

According to the designer, the first production car with features XRAY concept will appear in 2015.

"From a design standpoint, the embodiment of a new style of production models usually takes 4 years. So the first production car LADA new DNA and new design language will appear in 2015, "- said Mattin.

In addition, Steve Mattin said that the forthcoming Moscow Motor Show will be a very important event for AvtoVAZ.About Premier LADA, however, official information yet.

Earlier, the press center of Togliatti auto giant has named a completely new "Lada", which will replace the "Prior". B-class car was named Vesta . The model is created on the new universal platform LADA B, developed by AvtoVAZ.
